Service Description

Emergency General Assistance (EGA) may help to resolve a one-time crisis that immediately threatens a basic health or safety need (such as food, shelter or utilities). It is available to low income Minnesota residents through counties.

To qualify, you must have no other resources available to meet this need. The need must be resolved by one-time help, and it cannot be an ongoing need.

Generally, the money is paid directly to resolve the bill or as a voucher. Funds are administered by counties, and may run out.
