Here are some tips to enhance your experience when using MinnesotaHelp.info®. These are some examples of alternate ways to use the site and make it more accommodating to your needs.

  • Text size adjustment

    Change the text size for easier reading if desired.

  • Navigating without the mouse

    If you find the mouse difficult to use, you can navigate the MinnesotaHelp.info® site using only the keyboard.

    1. Move from link to link within the site

      Use the "Tab" key

    2. Select on a highlighted link within the site

      Hit "Enter" key

    3. Enter information into input form elements using the keyboard

      Hit "Enter" key

  • Navigating a drop down list or a set of radio buttons (radio buttons are the circles with the dark dot that can appear in the center to indicate that an option has been selected)

    1. Use "Up" and "Down" arrow keys
  • Screen readers

    All content in MinnesotaHelp.info® can be read by a screen reader. Use the screen reader’s ability to navigate headings within a web page.

    1. JAWS and Window-Eyes users:

      Use the "H" key to move to the next heading.

    2. JAWS users can open a dialog that lists all headings on a page

      Use keystroke "Insert+F6"

    3. Window-Eyes users can view all headings to open a dialog box which can show headings, links, form controls and interface elements

  • Use "My MinnesotaHelp.info®"

    This feature can help reduce time required to access information. MinnesotaHelp.info® offers multiple ways to search for resources, but to save time on return visits users can save providers and resources in an easily retrievable way in the "My MinnesotaHelp.info®" section.

    You will also be able to save resources in the Long Term Care Choices Navigator and the Youth Resource Navigator with your "My MinnesotaHelp.info®" account.
