Description

Family caregiver training and education focuses on building caregiver skills, dealing with stress and managing the caregiver role.


Additional Information

Education sessions are designed to help family and friends develop the necessary skills and confidence needed to nurture and support the older adults with long-term health conditions that they are caring for.


Sessions designed to help family and friends care for those with memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. The Redwood County Volunteer office and the Redwood Area Hospital Caring Connections Adult Day Program co-sponsor educational classes.


Service providers working together as a team to bring awareness, resources, and education to those who have dementia, their caregivers, and the general public


Services include:
* Increasing community awareness of Alzheimer's disease and related dementia's
* Promoting early identification of dementia for those most at-risk
* Educating healthcare providers on the importance and need to increase cognitive testing for early diagnosis of dementia
* Increase caregiver self-identification and connecting them with services, education, and resources which are critical to supporting their own well-being
