Description
Loans are available for low-income families purchasing a single-family home from the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
Loans from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) differ from a mortgage as they are used to cover what the mortgage doesn't. This happens when the lender approves an amount that doesn't pay the entire cost of the mortgage even with the downpayment from the buyer. This type of loan is called a gap or bridge loan. Some of these loans are forgivable and interest-free if the buyer meets requirements. Loans from the HRA are not tied to loans for the mortgage.
