Programming to help parents or potential parents succeed in the parenting role

Additional Information

Provides support, resources, information, counseling, meetings, and workshops for families of children and young adults with disabilities

Support groups include:
* "Extreme Parenting" - Monthly family gathering and support opportunity for families that include a child/teen with mental health/emotional problems
* "Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Extreme" - Support to families that include a child/teenager with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

In both of these groups, parents and caregivers get support and training. Siblings get a safe place to be while participating in art, music or physical activities.

Advocacy -
Trained advocates can assist in the school, work, community, or social service settings.

Information & Referral -
The Arc Northland office has a variety of print, video, and audio materials about special conditions and situations available.
