Description
Original Medicare beneficiaries are required to obtain Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and supplies from suppliers who have contracts with Medicare. This requirement does not apply to people who have Medicare Advantage plans (Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)). The suppliers have been through a competitive bidding process and meet Medicare eligibility and accreditation standards.
This website allows consumers to locate the suppliers by zip code.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) also works in partnership with state governments to administer Medicaid, the State Children's Health Insurance Program, and health insurance portability standards.
