A telephone and online chat service that provides peer-counseling. All services are free and confidential.
Callers can speak to telephone volunteers about coming-out issues, relationship concerns, parent issues, school problems, HIV/AIDS anxiety, safer-sex information and any life issues.
Callers can learn about resources, both social and support opportunities, that are local to them.
The talkline is available 1:00pm - 9:00pm (Pacific Time), Monday thru Friday and 9:00am - 2:00pm (Pacific Time), Saturday.

Programs that offer individual therapeutic sessions which are facilitated or guided by an individual who is the same age as the client (an age-peer) or who has experienced and resolved the same type of problem as the client.
Programs that offer a telephone service that enables people who are troubled to talk confidentially about their personal problems with an empathetic listener. These programs are often staffed by volunteers who can offer referrals for ongoing treatment, if needed.

Programs that provide immediate assistance for individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit or queer as well as people who are in the process of coming out, people who are questioning their sexual orientation/gender identity and/or their friends and families. Included may be short-term emotional support, resources and community referrals. The service is generally free and confidential and may offer peer support. Helpline staff are generally available via telephone, email, chat and/or text.

An umbrella term for people whose gender identity is not in harmony with their birth assignment, or who experience their gender identity as radically different from what is expected of a "man" or "woman". It includes but is not limited to people who identify as transgender, trans woman, trans man, transsexual, gender non-conforming, gender variant, gender queer or pangender. Many communities live under this umbrella but there is no single or universal experience of what it means to be trans (a word used interchangeably with "transgender").
