Description
The Lower Sioux Elder Nutrition Program has a program offering Medical Alert Systems for eligible elders that allows people to press a button and get help if they become ill or fall.
Funding for medical alert systems are not guaranteed after the first year of service.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to receive a life alert system under the Lower Sioux Elder Nutrition Program services, you must be:
* An enrolled member of any tribe
* Live within the Lower Sioux Indian Health Service (IHS) service area (10 mile radius)
* Aged 65 or older and living alone
* Aged 60 or older, living alone or alone for long periods of time during the day, and with a medical condition that could require immediate attention or are recovering from major surgery, a fall, heart attack or hip replacement
