Description
Respite provides care on a short-term basis for a person who cannot take care of themselves, and who is usually taken care of by a family member or friend. The service is designed to provide temporary coverage for the caregiver during an absence or need for relief.
Additional Information
Respite care provided to family caregivers to the caregiver can have a break.
Respite care can be provided in the home of the elder, the caregiver, or it can be provided at an out of home setting such as a senior center or adult day care center.
Families will be notified if allotments are adjusted due to changes in funding.
Eligible family caregiver 60 years of age or older may receive up to 12 hours of respite care per month. Respite care can be provided in the home of the elder, the caregiver, or at an out of home setting such as a senior center or adult day care center.
Grandparents raising Grandchildren will be allotted up to 12 hours of respite care per month.
