Programs that attempt to reduce the incidence of violence that occurs within the context of the family through a variety of educational interventions which may be appropriate for children of various ages; parents, grandparents or other adults living in the household; people who work with families and/or the community at large. The programs focus broadly on abuse prevention rather than offering more specialized services relating to child abuse, elder abuse, spouse/domestic partner abuse or other specific forms of abuse.

Consumer-based, community-controlled, nonprofit outpatient facilities that provide basic health care including physical examinations, immunizations, family planning, nutrition assistance and diagnosis and treatment of common ailments for low income people, people who are homeless or uninsured/underinsured or other medically underserved populations that are geographically, economically and culturally challenged. Services are generally provided on an ability-to-pay basis. In the U.S., most community clinics are part of the network of Federally Qualified Health Centers, and many are known as "free clinics".

Individuals whose ethnic background and ancestry are that of the tribal, aboriginal peoples who originated in what is now the United States. Included are Native Americans who are living on or off reservations in rural and urban areas.

Individuals and families of Native American descent who have needs and interests in common based on living in areas recognized by the federal or a state government as being set aside for the use of Native Americans and governed by Native Americans.
