Provides financial help to people with a health condition or disability so that they can pay for medical bills or other expenses related to health care
Angel Wheels provides help with ground transportation, including:
* Paying for commercial bus or Amtrak tickets
* Providing gas cards for friends that can help drive
* Volunteer drivers
A typical trip supported by Angel Wheels does not exceed 300 miles.
- Older adults
- People with low income
* Be ambulatory
* Require no medical monitoring or care en route
* Need access to specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis or treatment
* Demonstrate financial need

Programs that provide transportation for medical appointments, trips from and between hospitals, to nursing homes or other special-care centers or for other non-emergency medical needs for individuals who, because of financial problems or their physical condition, are unable to use other means of local transportation. NEMT service providers are able to transport riders who require a wheelchair lift equipped vehicle with appropriate protective restraints or a van that is designed for gurney/stretcher transportation, or has other types of features to meet their safety needs.
