Independent Living Skills (ILS) Training services develop, maintain, and improve a person's community living skills in the areas of:
* Communication
* Community living and mobility
* Interpersonal
* Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
* Self-care
* Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills


Additional Information

For individuals seeking educational enrichment, MCIL offers a range of Independent Living Skills Training and Classes in or out of a traditional classroom. A monthly calendar outlines an extensive array of free classes open to anyone with a disability. This includes the newest class, a series dedicated to Leadership and Civic Engagement.


About This Location

ILS training is direct training from a staff person to address the identified skill development needs of a person in the areas of:
* Communication skills
* Community living and mobility
* Interpersonal skills
* Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
* Self-care
* Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills

Assistance and supervision may occur during the delivery of ILS training services. However, training must be the primary service provided.
