Legal aid program that offers legal counseling and/or representation for low-income individuals, typically in the areas of disability law, elder law and family law
Free or low cost legal services help people who are unable to afford a lawyer get access to the court system.
Additional Information
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid gives legal help to people in poverty and to people of any income level age 60 or older or living with disabilities. Legal aid services include:
* Debt collection and unfair loans
* Disability-related cases
* Divorce when child custody is an issue
* Domestic violence
* Elder abuse
* Housing discrimination and evictions
* Immigration and citizenship
* Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax issues
Monthly senior wills clinics are held on the second Wednesday of the month

Low-income or elderly Minnesota residents.
Criminal and personal injury (or any case where there would be damages awarded) cases are not eligible.
