Description

Respite provides care on a short-term basis for a person who cannot take care of themselves, and who is usually taken care of by a family member or friend. The service is designed to provide temporary coverage for the caregiver during an absence or need for relief.


Additional Information

Provides planned or emergency temporary care for a Veteran, which provides relief to the caregiver


The caregiver of a veteran is eligible to receive up to 30 days of respite care per year.


Services can be offered in the veteran's home or through temporary placement in a VA Community Living Center, Community Residential Care Facility or an Adult Day Health Care Center.
