Description

A Community Living Center resembles "home" as much as possible.


Provides a nursing home level of care, which includes:
* Help with activities of daily living (e.g. bathing and getting dressed)
* 24-hour skilled nursing care
* Restorative care
* Geriatric evaluation and management


Some Community Living Centers provide additional services such as:
* Mental health recovery care
* Special care for Veterans with dementia or other cognitive deficits
* Respite care
* Palliative and hospice care for end of life


Amenities at all Community Living Centers include:
* Activities for all ages
* Family-friendly places for visiting

Eligibility

Eligibility is based on clinical need and room availability. To qualify, Veterans must be enrolled for VA Services at their local VA Medical Center. They must also meet criteria for service connected status, disability level, clinical need and in some cases, income thresholds.


In-home assistance services may also be available within the Veteran's community to meet ongoing needs of the Veteran.

Fees

Veterans may be responsible for a Co-pay while residing in a VA Community Living Center or for Home and Community Services.
