Residents of Minnesota can access free materials for the visually impaired through the Minnesota Braille and Talking Book Library or by calling (800) 722-0550


Blind people can also apply to access the national service offered through the Library of Congress.

Eligibility

Visually, physically, and reading disabled persons of any age certified as unable to read or use standard print material.


Minnesota residents can also access materials for the visually impaired through the website of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled

Fees

Materials are sent free of charge by the U.S. Postal Service. Patrons can request library materials through the online library catalog, as well as by telephone, email, and/or postal mail. A large number of books and magazines are also available to download from Minnesota Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD).
