Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) is the Minnesota name for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). This program is designed to provide healthy and nutritious food products each month at no cost to eligible individuals over the age of 60.
NAPS participants receive a monthly food package containing the following items:
* Canned fruits (in water or juice)
* Vegetables (low sodium or no salt added)
* 100% juices (no added sugar)
* Nonfat dry and shelf stable low-fat milk, low-fat American cheese
* Canned meat, chicken or fish and peanut butter or dry beans
* Cereal, and rice or pasta
Minnesotans over age 60 and are within the income guidelines
Eligible individuals must prepare their own meals and cannot live in a facility that provides meals.
Disability status is not an eligibility factor for the NAPS program.
Low-income Minnesota residents at 130% poverty level.
Must be able to provide recently postmarked mail with name and address, knowledge of current gross monthly household income, and picture ID.
