Description

Independent Living Skills (ILS) Training services develop, maintain, and improve a person's community living skills in the areas of:
* Communication
* Community living and mobility
* Interpersonal
* Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
* Self-care
* Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills


Additional Information

This program is individualized, goal oriented, and outcome based. Training can be provided on an individual basis or in a group setting. The length of services is determined by the progress that is made in accomplishing specific goals.


Consumers work one on one with independent living staff in a variety of areas:
* Money management and budgeting
* Transportation
* Time management
* Organization
* Cooking and nutrition
* Housing search
* Healthy relationships
* Post-secondary navigation
* Employment


About This Location

ILS training is direct training from a staff person to address the identified skill development needs of a person in the areas of:
* Communication skills
* Community living and mobility
* Interpersonal skills
* Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
* Self-care
* Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills

Assistance and supervision may occur during the delivery of ILS training services. However, training must be the primary service provided.

Eligibility

Under Waiver Reimagine, Independent Living Skills (ILS) Training and individualized home supports are streamlining into one service called individualized home supports with training as of January 1, 2021 (or upon federal approval).

Fees

Accept waiver funding, Veteran's funding and some types of insurance.
Services are also available to people without funding.
