Description

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) pays for this provider to help people with disabilities apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).


Additional Information

This agency helps people with the reconsideration process and to appeal decisions when SSI applications were denied.

Eligibility

To qualify, a person must be getting help from one of these programs:
* General Assistance (GA) including Tribal General Assistance
* Housing Support (formerly known as Group Residential Housing)
* Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
* Diversionary Work Program (DWP)
* Title IV-E for children in foster care
* Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA)

Fees

Will waive all fees for eligible clients.


For people who do not qualify for state funding, agency may also offer advocacy services for private pay, a percentage of backpay (payment for months when you qualified but were waiting for a decision) if the case is won (up to 25% of backpay - called "on contingency"), or other payment arrangements.
