Health and wellness education promotes healthy behaviors to reduce health risks, manage common conditions and prevent physical and mental health problems.

Additional Information

The YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program uses a group lifestyle intervention designed to reduce the risk of diabetes in individuals with pre-diabetes or at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

Classes are offered throughout the Greater Twin Cities. Check their website for current locations.

In order to qualify for the program, you must be at least 18 years old, overweight and at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes. You do not need to be a YMCA member to participate.

The cost for a full year access (16 weekly core sessions plus maintenance sessions) is $429. Pricing scholarships are available to participants with proof of low income.
